What is Effective Communication?

Premise: all infants, kids, and adults communicate to fill current needs - i.e. to reduce local discomforts "enough." For communica-tion to be effective, each person involved must feel:

s/he got her or his primary needs met well enough for now, and feel...

good enough about themselves + each communica-tion partner + the process in and between them.

Without communication awareness, the odds of this happening are only 6%! Learning communication basics and developing the skills of awareness and digging down can help you (a) identify your and your partner's current needs, (b) gauge the two criteria above, and (c) use seven skills and your Self in charge, (d) get more of your and your partners' daily needs met in pleasing ways. See the Project-2 guidebook or Web pages to help you learn to do this over time.
